Plug and Play Japanは2022年7月14日をもって5周年を迎えました。この5年間を通してPlug and Play Japanが成し遂げてきたこと、また日本のエコシステムが大きく発展したことを誇りに思います。

　日本最大のイノベーションプラットフォームを作るという当社のビジョンの達成に向けてご協力いただいた全ての方に心より感謝申し上げます。世界に変革を起こす技術と情熱を持つ起業家の皆様、起業家の皆様とともに革新的なイノベーションの実現に向けてご尽力いただいた企業パートナーや政府機関の皆様をはじめ、「Make innovation open to anyone, anywhere」という当社ミッションのもとにご協力いただいたスタートアップエコシステムに関わる全ての方々のおかげで、我々のビジネスは成り立っています。

　また、この場をお借りして当社メンバーにも感謝を伝えたいと思います。今日までの発展は個性的で素晴らしいメンバーひとりひとりの努力の賜物であり、日々情熱と喜びをもたらしてくれるメンバーとともに働けることを名誉に思います。今後も当社メンバーにとってPlug and Play Japanが誇れる職場であり、エキサイティングで多様性に富んだ、大きな影響力を持つ環境のモデルであり続けることを目指します。

　現在日本の各主要都市ではスタートアップエコシステムの潮流が高まっており、政府機関もスタートアップの重要性を強調しています。日本・東京におけるスタートアップエコシステムは、世界からこれまでにない高い評価を得ており、アクセラレーターやインキュベーター、投資家やスタートアップ支援者も増え続けています。我々のビジョン達成への道はまだ遠く、やるべきことは多く残されていますが、今後とも同じビジョンを共有する皆様とともに歩んでいきたいと考えています。

　今回の5周年は全てのイノベーターと彼らの起業家精神に贈られるものだと考えており、私たちの生活をより良くするために尽力いただいた方にスポットライトを当てたいと思っております。当社を支えていただいた全ての方々への感謝の意を表するとともに、今後とも一層のご指導、ご支援を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。

July 14th, 2022 marks the 5th anniversary of Plug and Play Japan. What a journey it has been from where we started to where we are now.

What Plug and Play Japan has been able to achieve, and how the Japanese ecosystem has evolved over the last 5 years, is something to be proud of. I want to take this opportunity to first thank all our supporters who have continued to help us achieve our vision of creating the largest innovation platform in Japan.

Our business is nothing without the entrepreneurs who dream of changing the world, our corporate and government partners who seek to achieve game-changing innovation with the help of these entrepreneurs and everyone within the startup ecosystem who share our mission to make innovation open to anyone, anywhere.

I also want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to the Plug and Play Japan team. I cannot say enough that will justify the amount of work, passion, and joy the Plug and Play Japan team members bring daily. Each member is truly unique and remarkable, and I could not be more honored to walk this journey with this team. I hope Plug and Play Japan will continue to be a workplace that people are proud to be a part of and a model for what an exciting, diverse, impactful environment can be.

Japan, and the major cities within, continues to build momentum as a startup ecosystem to be reckoned with as the country has put more emphasis on the importance of startups for the future of Japan. Japan and Tokyo continue to rank higher than ever before on globally recognized startup ecosystem rankings in the past year. There are also more accelerators, incubators, investors, and various startup supporters in Japan than ever before. We hope to embrace our friends who have the same vision as we do, and work with them to achieve success not possible on our own.

There is plenty of work still left. We are far from what we envision we can accomplish and many more projects that are underway.

Our anniversary is a celebration of entrepreneurship and the innovator in all of us. We hope to shed light and recognize everyone who strives to make our lives around us better than it was yesterday.
