・Akane Ichiki
BIO:
After graduating from the State University of New York, Akane worked as a researcher at Kyoto University’s Center for iPS Cell Research and Application, conducting regenerative medicine studies using genome editing technologies. My work focused on developing cell therapies for muscular dystrophy patients, with results published in Stem Cell Reports. I later completed my graduate studies at the School of Life Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology. I have contributed to interdisciplinary projects at five research institutions, ranging from physical chemistry to molecular and cell biology, and co-authored over ten academic papers. Having witnessed the barriers between research outcomes and their practical application in drug discovery and regenerative medicine, I joined Plug and Play’s Health division in 2025, where I focus on building new frameworks to deliver science to society by connecting bio-startups with industry.
