■イベント概要

本事業では、Nakanoshima Qrossを世界的有力プレイヤーが注目する創薬スタートアップエコシステム拠点とし、スタートアップ等の創薬力強化を通じて、革新的新薬の開発促進、さらには国民への新たな治療選択肢の提供を目指しています。

第一期（令和7年度）創薬・実用化支援プログラムでは支援スタートアップ22社に対して、スタートアップごとに専任担当が伴走し、技術開発、事業戦略、知財・規制対応、資金調達など多面的な支援を統合的に提供しました。加えて海外短期派遣として、採択スタートアップ数社に対してシリコンバレー・ボストンエリアへの渡航支援も実施し、現地での展示会の参加や個別商談機会の創出支援も実施しました。

成果報告会には基調講演として海外VCが数社来日し各国の創薬関連のトレンドについてお話しいただく予定です。

・Oliver Sims *登壇確定
Octopus Ventures, principle (イギリス)

Oliver leads Octopus Ventures biotech investment strategy in early-stage companies across Drug Discovery, Research Tools, Diagnostics, and Engineering Biology. He is inspired by biology and has a background in Biomedical Science and Biochemistry, which led him to working in business and corporate development at biotech companies.
His operational experiences have been dealmaking in biologics drug discovery, gene editing tools, breath diagnostics. Oliver also founded his own start up for digital prediction and mitigation tools for bipolar patients.
Oliver transitioned from business development into investing by moving to Meltwind which is the family office of Jonathan Milner who is one of the UK’s most successful biotech entrepreneurs and is now a Principal at Octopus Ventures.
He serves as an advisor to the UK government on Engineering Biology and the strategy for making the UK a superpower in the field.
He is also a Fellow of Life Science and Deeptech Venture Capital with the Royal Academy of Engineering and Imperial College London.

・Andres Gassert *登壇確定
Observa Capital (スイス)

Andres Gassert is an economist and seasoned industry expert who has
held corporate strategy positions at multinational companies,
including Bayer, Teva, and STADA (Cinven/Bain Capital). His focus has
been on M&A, Business Development & Licensing, market analysis,
and advising on corporate strategy portfolios valued at over $1.5
billion. His biggest project has been advising Cinven/Bain Capital on
the sell of STADA for $8.5 billion to US-Private Equity. Andres has been
active in the biotechnology industry, contributing to the first major
tech transfer of monoclonal antibodies from private to public/private
partnerships.

Since 2021, he has been working as an investment advisor to a Swiss
Foundation through ObserVa Capital on public/private investments in
Europe, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Energy Transition,
Energy Storage, Biotechnology, Healthcare and Health-tech. His role
involves delivering investment advice, due diligence and market
analysis while advising on corporate governance structure for invested
startups in the United Kingdom. Andres is also Partner at BFB, a new
regulated fund in Spain in Partnership with Olea Gestion.
