She also expanded her reach into the digital healthcare sector through her role as CFO and Member of the Board at Medical Note, Inc., a digital healthcare platform founded by doctors, serving 20mm monthly users in Japan.
Prior to her new ventures, Mio was Partner of Arbor Ventures, a global fintech focused VC, and Executive Director and General Manager of the New Business Planning Office at Monex Group, Inc. in addition to serving as the Managing Director of Monex Ventures Inc., Monex Group’s corporate venture capital arm. Monex’s previous investments include Lifenet Insurance (IPO 2012), Uzabase (IPO 2016), and Moneyforward (IPO 2017). Mio started her career with Goldman Sachs, and over the course of 18 years with the firm, gained experience across trading, M&A, and Venture Capital. Mio was a committee member of the JVCA Ecosystem Committee and has been selected as 1 of 55 top global female leaders in Japan by Forbes Japan as well as one of the ‘Top 100 Influencers in FinTech’ by NextBnk in 2016 and 2017. She is also a co-founder of FINOVATORs, a pro-bono organization which promotes the development of the fintech ecosystem in Japan, and has been invited to speak at the Fintech Study groups held by the FSA, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Liberal Democratic Party Financial Commission, in addition to various international and Japanese events, including the World Economic Forum (Summer Davos) at Tianjin in 2016.

She also serves on the board of Septeni Holdings, Inc (JASDAQ 4293), hennge (TSE mothers 4475), and Kayac, Inc. (TSE mothers 3904) as outside director.
